When I started taking yoga 1 ½ years ago, I didn’t know a downward facing dog from a sun salutation. Kira’s knowledge of yoga combined with her fun-loving attitude has made each yoga practice memorable. No matter how creaky and old or unmotivated I feel going into the practice I am always energized and positive at the end. She is a wonderful and encouraging teacher. She has the ability to teach to a variety of levels in a class and makes it worthwhile for all. And as a result of Kira’s teaching, I’m grateful to know that I will still go to “yoga heaven” even without being able to touch my toes!

In my personal opinion, Kira teaches a great basic class on Saturday morning. She’s an EXCELLENT instructor and is always patient/supportive with her students.

I love Kira’s oils! She incorporates aromatherapy in her yoga classes; as she brings different scents to class, depending on the mood or theme that she wants to convey (On a side note, she also hands out lavender infused cold compresses to use during savasana, which is an added treat!). I dabbed on a lavender infused oil at the beginning of an evening class at Niyama. The beautiful and soothing scent stayed with me for the rest of the night. I ended up buying 2 different blends of oils from Kira; and each serves a different purpose. I wear “uplift your spirit” during the day. It’s energizing and uplifting and I dab it on my wrists, ears and neck throughout the day. I use “Soothe your Spirit” in the evening. It’s perfect after a long day; as it’s soothing,nurturing.and a welcome bedtime treat. These oils have a much more profound effect on me than perfume. They have therapeutic benefits for me as they inspire me, calm me, motivate and energize me. They are great to use during meditation as well. Another aspect of what makes them special is that Kira custom blends scents depending on her intuition and what she thinks will be therapeutic. They are “personalized” and unique and obviously I’m a big fan!

Dear Kira,

I wanted to thank you for the “cleanse.” It hit my in box when I was feeling more unhealthy & bloated than I had in years. In the 2 weeks I stuck to the cleanse very strictly, I lost 12 pounds!!! Since then I’ve had a series of trips & social engagements and have managed to maintain most of the loss but more importantly, since using the cleanse as a guideline for daily eating (fruits, vegetables & vegetable protein as staples) I FEEL better. I am a chocoholoic and a soda fiend (I would drive through the McD’s drive through every day for my diet coke fix…and that was after a huge coffee in the morning), and I feel like I’ve finally kicked the sugar habit. At least the habit is less of a monster.

Now, when I deter from this eating plan, I feel gross and crabby. The 1st week was HARD but even though I was PMS’ing that 1st week my husband said I was LESS crabby than I usually am! Thank you for your motivation & I am addicted to my fruit & veggie smoothies! What a difference your class had had in my life.

It’s so inspiring for me to learn from teachers like you. It was great to experience such a creative and energetic class from an instructor who was not fearful of using her personality to inspire and have fun. Your teaching style incorporates all of the great components that make an awesome class (spiritual, metaphor, play, alignment, exciting sequence). Hope I’m not embarrassing you but I would love to be as good of a teacher as you. And I’m excited to have found someone that I can learn from!

Kira is a beyond fantastic yoga teacher. She made both beginner and more experienced yogis feel good about their spiritual experience at Pulsation Yoga Studio. Kira was helpful, friendly, and not to mention hilarious. I brought a group of six people of all ages, genders, and with varying yoga experience; everyone one of them left with a smile on his or her faces and loads of positive energy. You would be a fool if you do not give this sassy Danish chick a try :).

TRUTH BEING, MEDITATION ATTRACTED ME TO YOGA. I ALWAYS LIKED THE IDEA OF CALMING MY MIND AND RELAXING MY BODY. FLEXIBILITY, SELF AWARENESS, AND “BEING OPEN TO LIFE’S WONDERFUL POSSIBILITIES” ( KIRA SPEAK) WAS NOT MY GOAL. WELL, THAT CHANGED WHEN I MET KIRA IN JAN 2010. The reason I appreciate Kira’s yoga classes goes beyond her mastery of yoga technique. Her free spirit personifies the positive messages of yoga and has made Kira more of a mentor than simply an instructor. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and sense of humor have made a sometimes difficult course of study into an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

“Balance” is the word that I think best describes Kira’s guiding philosophy. For example: she is attentive in helping students perfect their form but also helps students to be patient with themselves. In general, she helps students to accept the limitations which come with being human, but also to see their endless potential to keep improving and moving forward as human beings in both mind and body.

I first stepped into one of Kira’s classes having only previously experienced yoga at the local park district. Wow – What a difference! Kira of course brings her training and experience to the class, but her enthusiasm and humor also add a distinctive element to the environment. I really enjoyed your focus on the shoulders throughout the class in various different poses (childs pose, down dog, plank, side angle). I have trouble with my shoulders in down dog so it was helpful to focus on the same shoulder position in those other poses and then come back to down dog. I also found your tips for vashistasana very helpful. Vashistasana is a pose that is very difficult for me–I sometimes find myself holding my breath and shaking trying to hold the pose. But now when I’m in the pose I think about your tips of putting your arm a little in front, trying to open your chest and place your foot down and I feel like I am still working but I can breath again. Working on internally rotating the back leg and externally rotating the front leg in warrior II has also helped me in that pose. Overall it was a wonderful workshop and it gave me so much to think about! Thank you so much 🙂
